December Newsletter 2014

Dear Parents,

December and the holiday season are in full swing! We hope you all had a safe and happy Thanksgiving. The anticipation of the holidays is filling the air with excitement around the center. As in previous years, we will be starting our December community project ‘The Giving Tree’ event the first week in December. This year we will be collecting gifts for some homeless families and families in transition via DCYF in Manchester. Thank you in advance for all of you who are able to help those less fortunate with gifts from the Giving Tree.

Also during the first week in December we will have our annual Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair will be open 8am thru 5pm Monday thru Friday for you to browse and shop. There is a flyer in your child’s cubby with some of the books that’ll be available, but there will be many more for you to look through during the fair itself. All purchases benefit the center, allowing us to get books for the classrooms. The teachers will be making Wish Lists for books for their rooms. The wish lists will be at the fair if you would like to treat your child’s classroom during this time.

Do you have family, cultural or religious celebrations or traditions you would like to share with us at the center? Please see Deb or the classroom teacher. We would love to have your personal input of how you celebrate the holidays and share it with the children.

Each classroom has festive fun activities happening, so check your classroom newsletter for those. Please also sign up for your child’s attendance during the holiday week, so we know when to expect your child during that time. We have three field trips booked at Noel’s Tree Farm. Dates are:

Nursery – Wed, Dec 3rd

Preschool – Wed, Dec 17th

Kindergarten – Tues, Dec 9th

ALL classrooms will leave at 9am. Money for field trip is due to the office one week prior to the field trip date. Please ensure your child is dressed warmly – the field trip is outside for 90 minutes.

The children loved making special cards for our armed service men and women in November. We’ll be making holiday cards/drawings for some local NH service members stationed overseas this month!

On Monday, December 22nd the staff will be participating in a ‘Crazy Christmas Hat Contest’. Be sure to tour the center and see everyone’s crazy hats!

Our next PTAB meeting will be December 3rd, please join us if you can.

Please keep in mind that we will be closed at noon on December 24th, closed all day December 25th and January 1st, 2015.

As a reminder, should the center be closed due to inclement weather anytime throughout the season the closing information will be available on WMUR News 9, or on our website under News – Announcements. If you’ve never been to our website then add us to your favorites. Find us at www.littlefrogsandpolliwogs.com .

We wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season.
