June 2012 Newsletter

Summer’s here! Another year of school is at an end. We’ve learned a lot and grown a lot and made a lot of friends. We’ll say goodbye, now summer’s here, it’s time for us to part. But we’ll remember all our friends and keep them in our hearts.

June can be a fun, yet emotional time here at Little Frogs. June is the end of the academic year and our music recital for the older children of the center. This past month the children have been practicing hard and are looking forward to their performance on June 21st. Please join us at the Music and Movement Recital (full details below) and join in the fun. Our graduating Kindergarteners, Class of 2012 will be having their graduation ceremony that evening too. We wish them well as they head off into 1st grade. This is always an emotional time. Many of the Kindergarten class have been here since they were babies and we have seen them grow and develop throughout the years.

With summer peeking its head out from behind the clouds this means it is time for summer fun and the beginning of summer curriculum. Look out for all the fun stuff we have lined up for the children throughout the summer. We’ll have it posted in the classroom and online for you to see. Take a minute to read through and mark your calendar with important information (what you may need to bring, what the children need to wear etc.).

During the summer months we ask that you bring in a few additional things for your child. Here is a reminder list and ensure all of their items have their name on them.

  • bathing/swim suit
  • towel
  • water shoes (not flip flops)
  • sunscreen
  • bug  spray

Museum week – This month’s museum week theme is ‘Time for Vacation’, so be ready to be amazed by the array of artwork. The children’s artwork will be on display June 25th thru 30th . Please stop by and take a look.
