Newsletter – October 2011

Dear Parents,

The school year is now in full swing and hopefully most of you got to attend open house and get immersed in the content of your child’s day. Last week was our first museum week of the year. There was some beautiful artwork on show. Watch out for your personal invite throughout the year when your child has their turn in showing off their creative side.

October is NH Parent Involvement in Education Month and now is a great month to be a part of our Parent Teacher Advisory Board here at Little Frogs. We are always on the lookout for new members. Here is an interesting excerpt from a recent National PTA report, The Positive Relationship between family Involvement and Student Success, point to the following findings:

– The more parent involvement practices focus on student learning the more the student learning improves.

– Children whose parents speak up on their behalf are more confident at school

– All families can contribute to their child’s success regardless of race, ethnicity, class or level of education.

‘Twenty years of scientific study show that parent and family involvement influences children’s academic achievement. The research offers compelling reasons to focus on improving parent involvement in our schools.’

Our next Parent Advisory Board meeting is this Wednesday, Oct 5th (and November 2nd), both at 5.45pm. Come along to see what goes on meet the members with no commitment to join!
