Newsletter – September 2011

September brings the beginning of a new academic year. 2011/12 is the fifth year of Little Frogs & Polliwogs having a Parent Teacher Advisory Board. If you are new to Little Frogs, we welcome you and your child! We produce a monthly newsletter to keep you informed of goings on around the center and projects we have in the pipeline for the months ahead. As we have had in our prior years, each classroom has a parent representative.

Throughout the year we organize activities, fundraisers for the center/classrooms and generally help to compliment and enhance the strong sense of ‘family’ that The Center has always encouraged.

Please feel free to contact your representative if you have something to share, or join us and bring any ideas/issues to the next meeting. These representatives are available via email. Their details are below & will be posted on the notice board outside the office.

September also brings Open House for all the classrooms at the center. This is a great chance to meet your child’s teachers and your parent representative. Listed below is the scheduled date & times for each classroom:

CAVIAR/HOPPERS – Thursday, September 29^th  – 4.00-5.00pm      

POLLIWOGS – Thursday, September 22^nd – 4.00-5.00pm      

TADPOLES 1 – Friday, September 23^rd  – 4.00-5.00pm

TADPOLES 2 – Friday, September 30^th –  4.30-5.30pm                                          

NURSERY – Wednesday, September 28^th – 5.30 – 6.30pm

PRESCHOOL -Wednesday, September 21^st  – 5.30-6.30pm                              

KINDERGARTEN – Tuesday, September 27^th –  5.00-6.00pm

Museum week – During the last three years we have had one week per month when we show off your children’s artwork to you and the other children at the center. This is a great experience for both the children to exhibit their work and for those visiting their peer’s creations. Throughout the academic year your child will have a turn to have their two or three dimensional artwork on display for one week. Watch out for your personal invitation from your teacher when it’s your child’s turn. During the summer the classrooms will work as a group to produce their masterpieces. We’ll be kicking off in September with the theme of ‘Who am I?’, with it running from Sept 26^th thru 30^th.

Dates for the Calendar

• School Pictures – will be taken October 5^th and 6^th (re-take day Oct 18^th).
• Harvest Festival – Thursday, October 27^th – 6-7.30pm – There will be lots of harvest happenings in each classroom. The center will be full of crafts, autumnal events and don’t forget to dress-up for a picture opportunity along the way. Look out for sign-up sheets closer to the time.

The next Parent Teacher Advisory Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 5^th at 5.45pm. Look out for the next newsletter in October. Remember you can access this three ways:
