Newsletter – May 2011
Thank-you to all of you that turned out on a rainy spring morning to join us at Applebees for our Pancake Breakfast fundraiser. A thank-you also goes out to those parents and teachers that volunteered their time to greet, serve and clean on the day. We raised $312 enabling us to purchase a new tumble mat for the center.
As you may have seen our next event is our 3rd Annual Walkathon on Saturday, May 14th (Sunday, May 15th is the rain date). For those already registered you should have by now received your pledge envelopes. Registration is now closed, but even if you cannot make the walk watch out for the walkathon raffle with lots of exciting prizes from a weeks free tuition donated by Geri to passes at Mel’s Funway, day passes to Storyland, karate classes, gym membership and much more. Raffle tickets will be on sale every afternoon during May on the run up to the Walkathon.
On April 1st Little Frogs & Polliwogs launched their new website. There is still some construction going on, but we have many new features that we would like to make you aware of. There is now a ‘news’ page. All of these newsletters are posted there along with other news and announcements regarding the center. There is also a calendar where many of our event and happenings are posted. Soon you will also be able to find the handbook and other helpful paperwork that you requested. We hope this will be more user friendly for you, so stop by often. www.littlefrogsandpolliwogs.com
Museum week – This month’s museum week theme is ‘Bugs & Plants’. The children’s artwork will be on display May 23rd – 27th. Please stop by and take a look.
Dates for the Calendar
- Friday, May 6th – Nursery Mother’s Day tea 4-5pm
- Thursday, May 12th – Kindergarten field trip.
- Date to be determined – Preschool Book Train Party
- Thursday June 16th – 6pm End-of-year Recital & Kindergarten Graduation will be held at The Jewish Federation on Beech Street.
The next Parent Teacher Advisory Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at 5.40pm. We would love to welcome some new members. Please feel free to come along and join us if you are interested.
