Newsletter – December 2010
Firstly a big thank-you to all of you who participated in our Pizza Hut fundraiser. A lot of you took the effort to come out on a cold, windy and rainy night to support us. We really do appreciate it. Fun was had by all that ate in and hopefully all of you that picked up your order got to enjoy in the comfort of your home.
Secondly and more importantly we are coming up to our final week for our ‘Circle of Giving’. Many of the exciting ‘fun’ gifts have been taken. Please do not forget the gifts, for many us, that might seem like boring gifts to give. These are going to less fortunate families this holiday season and in many cases they do not have a roof over their heads, so clothes are so important to them. There are still gifts to give. Please stop by our tree and pick up a tag. We will be distributing gifts the week beginning Dec 13th, so the deadline for bringing in gifts is FRIDAY DECEMBER 10th.
Do you have family, cultural or religious celebrations or traditions you would like to share with us at the center? Please see Deb or the classroom teacher. We would love to have your personal input. Thanks to Liza Oppenheim (Mataya’s Mom) who will be sharing Hanukkah with Kindergarten on Dec 8th. Many of the classrooms are planning holiday celebrations. Watch for notices and details in the classroom newsletters for details.
• Museum week – This month’s museum week theme is ‘The Holidays’. The children’s artwork will be on display December 21st thru 31st. Please stop by and take a look.
The kindergarten children had an enjoyable trip to Noel’s Tree Farm on Dec 1st (see picture below). Hopefully the other classes that have their trips planned are as luckily with the weather as Kindergarten was.
