November ’15 – Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Did you know that Saturday Nov 21st is National Family Pajama Night? We have the perfect pairing: a great book! November 14th kicks off the Scholastic Book Fair. This year we will be having an adult only preview shopping opportunity on Saturday from 10am-noon at Little Frogs and Polliwogs. Come, browse and shop without your children and pick up some surprise gifts for the holidays. The Book Fair will run for the rest of the week thru November 20th at the center during the day. Don’t forget to check out your child’s classroom Wish List and consider purchasing a book for the classroom while you are shopping. This will be the last opportunity to pick up Scholastic books before Christmas. The next Scholastic Reading Club order will be in January.

The Parent Teacher Advisory Board is meeting Wednesday, November 18th at 5:35pm in the Kindergarten classroom. The theme for November is ‘Staying Stress-Free During the Holidays’. Children add another dimension to the holidays, from the excitement, changed schedules and over-stimulation of the senses and that’s just the children – learn some techniques to keep life simple during these fun times. Join us, along with other parents in this open discussion. This is free and open to all LFP parents and guardians. Child care is provided, so if this is something you are interested in please join us!

We hope you all made it in to see October Museum Week. This month the theme is ‘Fall’. The children’s artwork will be on display November 23rd thru 30th. Watch for notification to see if your child will be a featured artist this month.

The older children will be heading out on their annual field trips to Noel’s Tree Farm at the beginning of December. As always we rely heavily on parent chaperone/drivers to allow this to happen each year. Please sign up if you can help out.

Dec 4th – Nursery

Dec 8th – Kindergarten

Dec 11th – Preschool

Thank you in advance for all who are able to help out. This is a really festive field trip and will kick the holiday season off to a great start!

With the holiday season is fast approaching, we’d love to invite parents and families to share any special traditions or experiences you may have with your child’s classroom. As a center we have our own tradition: A Giving Tree – we collect gifts for some homeless and/or needy families in the Manchester area. Thank you in advance for all of you who are able to help those less fortunate with gifts from the Giving Tree. We will be starting this annual project soon after Thanksgiving.
