November Newsletter 2014

Dear Parents,

With the falling leaves and the whirling wind of autumn the signs of winter to follow is in our midst. The holidays will be upon us soon and first off we would like to remind you of our upcoming closures during the next couple of months.

  • Veterans Day – CLOSED – Tuesday, November 11th
  • Thanksgiving – CLOSED – Thursday & Friday, November 27th & 28th
  • Christmas Eve – CLOSING at NOON – Wednesday, December 24th
  • Christmas Day – CLOSED – Thursday, December 25th
  • New Year’s Day – CLOSED – Thursday, January 1st 2015

Please ensure you send your child in with a jacket, mittens and hat every day, not forgetting boots and snow pants once the snow starts to fall. The holidays are always packed full of lots of activities, but as we know, children function best on routine, so please remember to have your child here by 9am each day. If you plan on having your child out for any additional days during the holidays please notify your child’s teacher by signing up on the sheet provided in each classroom. You will see one for November and another after Thanksgiving for December. Talking of holidays, the classrooms are working on thank-you cards for our servicemen & women. One of our parents, Sam Murch will deliver the cards to Nashua, where they will be distributed to service members overseas.

Jonas Brier from New York Life will be here to do a Child ID Event on Tuesday November 4th. This is a free event, just complete the form and hand in to your teacher or the office.

The older children will be heading out on their annual field trips to Noel’s Tree Farm. As always we rely heavily on parent chaperone/drivers to allow this to happen each year. Please sign up if you can help out. Thank you in advance for all who are able to help out. This is a really festive field trip and will kick the holiday season off to a great start!

Parents will also get the chance to get a boost on holiday shopping with our Scholastic book fair during the first week of December. It will be open from 9am onward, so if you would like to shop for gifts while your child is in class, please feel free to stop by. Grandparents, friends and other family members are all welcome.

As we approach the holiday season, we’d love to invite parents and families to share any special traditions or experiences with their child’s classroom. This is fun any time of the year! Just speak to your child’s teacher.
